CONVERT & UNIFY CONTENT

X-CAGO has developed a comprehensive tagging scheme for print media. It enables fast and high-quality data conversion into almost all XML and JSON protocols and schemas. It does not matter whether the data structures are highly complex or less sophisticated.

The X-CAGO tagging format called SuperSet supports all major data protocols defined by the main eKiosks and appsvendors.

Leading providers already rely on X-CAGO's SuperSet to convert data: (a selection)

  • Amazon

  • Apple News +

  • Cafeyn

  • Canvasflow

  • iApps

  • Jellyfish Connect

  • Magloft

  • Media Carrier

  • Pugpig

  • Sprylab

  • Textalk

  • Twipe

  • Twixl

  • United Kiosk

  • Zinio

In the B2B space, the SuperSet enables partners such as PMG Presse-Monitor, LexisNexis, Dow Jones, Newsbank, Factiva and a host of other media monitoring organisations (MMOs) to seamlessly adopt content.

More and more publishers are also using the format to feed content quickly and optimally into their CMS systems.

The flawless and error-free conversion of print and web content into other formats - including the transfer into app applications - is a constant challenge for content producers and publishers. If it is not mastered, readership will migrate.

Similarly, MMOs worldwide have problems producing error-free press clippings. Analyses and research repeatedly show that there are system-related technical errors in the quality and output of content.

The consequences are "false positives" as well as negative effects on functions such as text-to-speech, translations and automatic summaries, which are either not optimal or not possible at all.

X-CAGO CREATES THE SUPERSET FORMAT FROM PDF FILES

This not only affects the quality, but also the commercialisation and integrity of the content. This is where X-CAGO's solutions come in and, in combination with the PMG press database in Germany, deliver perfect quality converted content for customers, rights holders, publishers, B2B partners and MMOs.

Increasingly, newspapers, magazines and journals are offering their content digitally. More and more newspaper publishers, for example, only offer printed editions at weekends, while during the week they provide a fully digital edition or offer a fully digital service.

It is crucial for publishers to be able to convert their content quickly, in a well-structured and cost-efficient manner, and to be able to offer it in the desired output formats via various internal and external B2C and B2B channels.

An example of the complexity of the channels and data formats to be served: Apple News + has a completely different file structure than Microsoft News, PMG Press Monitor or Readly.

Extremely short turn-around times for many titles and time-critical release margins for some content - X-CAGO's solutions take these challenges into account right from the start.

The processing time for a publication is determined in consultation with the publisher and can be between 2 and 24 hours.

X-CAGO's Operation Centre also monitors output around the clock to ensure that publishers' content is processed and delivered on time and in full to avoid escalations.
